My House Poem by Tony Adah

My House

Of all hues
The greedy artist
Loves to paint-
A great edifice
A skycrapper, a sport utility vehicle
And fat vault
All for his glory and honour
To the world.
For me
I am building
My own house
The commoners, its foundation
I am building it now
Where it can shake not
In the violence of the wind
Or taken by
The swift hands
Of the floods.
