My House Is Small Poem by RIC BASTASA

My House Is Small

My house is small
Cogon-roofed
And nipa walled.

Fenced by bamboo slats
Near the shore
The air is fresh
The breeze so cool
Shaded by a tree
And stars and moon

I sleep here alone
With nothing on
Hand

bare

I am a simple man
Barefoot and calm.
