My How We'Ve Changed

Rating: 5.0

My, How We've Changed
Once so beautiful
Life and time has rearranged
So many hardships, heartbreaks
we feel so shortchanged
misunderstood, estranged
life asks now that everything be prearranged
but inside we're more beautiful now
our hearts have been broken down
and built back up again
but our inner hopes, our child's heart
that can't be changed
but the world around us feels so strange
what we need the most is just a chance
to taste the beauty of romance
to find a lover by fate or happenstance
that opens up their heart to the magic of the dance
and then they'll feel it too
that all of life could be brand new
and perhaps this tattered shell the'll see right through
perhaps too through the sad and blue
to the part that's never changed
and always dreamed and to hope of love, remained true
That's the part of me I'd give to you
Tears of sparkling scattered light
try to let sadness escape and make it right
But all the teardrops that fall
cannot express it all
and only that feeling you can ever feel
if we fall in love
and love is real
