RIC S. BASTASA

My Illusion.... - Poem by RIC S. BASTASA

your face is so beautiful
it can be my home

your body is so luscious
it can be my dining place

your wholeness
can be my island where
i can be alone and yet
happiest

your sweat is my
water
that i must drink so
i may live
for another day

you are my everything
my world, my universe

how can you be mine?

be mine
be mine,
i chant
a prayer
that you
may hear
me

how can i be
within you?
how can i be
without you?

i am thirsty,
i am hungry
i am dying.

and
then in one wink
of the eye
you are
gone
forever.
