My Inamorata Poem by Uche Nwanze

My Inamorata

I have been searching for a lifetime
I waited and baited like the patient hawk
I have pilgrimed the four ends of the earth
I wanted a Partner, I was gifted a Soulmate
I prayed for a Helpmate, I got a Lifesaver
I wished for a Friend, I was bestowed with a Guardian Angel
I asked for a Spouse, I was blessed with a Companion
I prayed for a Homemaker, I was given a Caregiver
I wished for the Sky, I was granted Paradise
I sought for Stones, I found Pearls
I asked for a story, I got a fairytale
I reached for a Star, I touched a Comet
I craved for Oranges, I was bequeathed Apples
I searched for a Miracle, I found You
Alas! I have magied in search of the star, I found the manger

My Inamorata
