My Indebtedness Poem by Babajide Aina

My Indebtedness

As I look my entire life am too indebted to the one and only
The more I strive to offset my debts, the more I incur more
In pretense that nothing, the more he pays my other creditors
As I say how much is the interest the more he shows no agreement
As I wonder why, or is it my good works? The more I see my sins
As ruminate on my debts the more he asks do I need more help

As I take stock of my life, the more I see I owe him in the morning, day and night
As I wonder, he opens the door of his house and trust me
Like a vagabond, I kill his guard and carted away with his goods
When he sees me next he apologizes for not given me more
In my default, he invites me to eat with him and robe me
Amidst royal's celebration, I disgrace him with my lust

As I go on a lonely journey he introduces me to a friend
As he sees my needs he gives me more
In my character, I disappointed him again and again
The more I turn my plan away, the more he plans my ways back
To force him to leave me alone I kill his only begotten son
But still he forgives, he forgives

As he calls me by my name………………, he says
Forgiveness is never a license for wrong but an expression of love by other means.
As I see my selfishness I beg for his mercy and forgiveness
In his final words, he says all I have given you is yours
Only you don't know what time have stolen from you.

Debts! Worried; but, there is hope ahead. Don't give up on your dreams. Nice work.
