My Land Poem by Amarjit Sidhu

My Land

Rating: 5.0

Scattered gray ashes
the thundering end
to my existence
the rain falling....
washing me away
the fire
red blue and white
in its vain majestic colors
a little smile seeps through
my lips and the teary eyes
as I touch you for the last time
some hazy unclear morning
in passing
expanding into dust
the neon lights
I am history
electrons on the TV screen
create and recreate
even before the dust floats down
(for the world to see)
yes, the love, the laughter
fear the joy of my first steps
the fear of my last one
the love left behind
soon all this will pass
in fragments
before you know
there will be
another one of
me
like the monsoon
it will be all
washed into sea
