My Last Walk Poem by Kelsey Decker

My Last Walk

Rating: 4.0

As I entered the room
In cap and gown
I look around
Cameras flashing

Kids yelling
Adults crying
Grandparents waving
I smile with joy

I sit down
Eyes on speaker
As the hours pass by
Our names are called
We go up one by one
I await my name

I finally hear my name
Standing up and walking up
On the stage I see smiles
I see clapping and tears
My nerves become tense
I take my diploma
As it is handed to me

As I walk off the stage
I smile and feel emotional
A vision of my of my first day
Repeats through my mind
When I reach my seat
I realize its my time
My time to shine
