Poem: MY LIFE IS PAIN
Poet: Matloob Bokhari
Country: Pakistan
I saw a man sighing, sobbing and crying
Drying his cheeks with the fingers of his hands.
Seeing him in dismal pain,
I asked: ' Relax and breathe.
Tell me who has given you this chronic pain? '
Looking at me, the distressed man replied:
'I am having a deepest wound in my soul.
My pain is both unbelievable and unbearable.
I am not in pain that some one hurt me
I am bleeding that I hurt someone.
The deepest wound to my soul is that I killed an innocent bird.
Essence of my suffering is that I killed a God 's creature.
This is essence of my suffering.
This is essence of my suffering that I killed a God 's creature.
It's hard, very hard to forget this pain.
Suffering is unbelievable when you have killed a living creature.
Suffering is unbearable when you are certain; God is annoyed with you.
This is the pain which never goes away from my memory.
When I remember the innocent bird moaning:
I am dead, I am dead, I am dead!
And then I see myself in coffin in the dark grave.
I cry!
I weep!
My life is pain!
