My Love Is Gone With The Waves Forever Poem by Meghan Rhy

My Love Is Gone With The Waves Forever

Here I am, sitting on the beach.
Watching the waves move closer to me,
I can only see your face.
Those eyes that sparkle with joy,
Everytime our feet touched the water.
The smile of a little boy, so happy and full of life.
Your excitment lifted me up. 'SWOOSH, 'SWOOSH'
the sound of the waves leaves my soul with
a comforting memory.
The memory of those days at the beach.
Our foot prints left behind in the sand.
A track leading, to my bleeding heart.
My soul taken away with the tide.
I lick my lips, taste the salt..
I remember the moist from your kiss.
The ocean washes away my serenity.
The seagul flies away with my pride and dignity.
Im left listening to the sound of the water,
the only comforting memory! ...
If you read this, tell me you will always remember me,
the way things use to be.
I brush the sand off the page.
Then engrave my name in its texture.
One last time, i look at it with heartache.
Then gently brush that faided memory away.
& i hide my pride...
