My Love (My Dog) Poem by Saarthak Haldar

My Love (My Dog)

A Friend, A mate, i found
In my life, when i was alone, nobody was around.
Made myself fulfilled again.
And with him, my soul was bound.

Every morning, he licked my hands.
With true love, his eyes glazed.
Awaked me, every morning with his selfless love.
Like a spark, enlightened my dark, depressed days.

Waited for me, whenever i was late.
With wagging his tail, in front of the gate.
Loved me with his uncorrupted soul.
Uncorrupted than any human alive in this date.

Heate food by my hand.
Cuddled with me whenever he got a chance.
And stared me with his pious soul.
To get my just one glance.

He never knew existence of maliciousness, lies and betrayal.
Knew Only love, trust ... nothing else.
His life was dedicated,
And opportunities, he never knew how to avail.

Stared at me with his faithful eyes
Trusted me more than his own mind.
Could eat poison from my hand.
Even with that suffering, he would have smiled.

He was part of my life, part of my soul.
Without him, i was not a whole.
As he played, teased me whole day.
But with him, my pains were no more.

But now, he is no more.
Residing with his memories, i am alone.
But, his soul will be in deep sorrow, if i mourn.
So, even with those pains, i can't mourn.

I know, from heaven he is seeing me.
His love is with me.
And playing on the lap of God,
He prays for me, that i should always be happy.

As i am praying for him.
