Looking up, I see your splendor
Shining in the sky above.
See I it, and it does render
All my awe to instant love.
Brightly shines your flame unceasing,
Lighting all who watch its glow;
Never dimming or decreasing,
Bathing all in warmth below.
Dare I reach to grasp your beauty,
Strive to hold the secrets yours?
Dare I bid for sacred booty,
Try to ope' your inner doors?
Can I hold my longings captive,
And deny all that I am?
I a man, my feelings active,
I must grasp for what I can.
Shall I reach to take the starlight?
I have said I might and shall.
Shall I win my prize from midnight?
Only know that time will tell.
Though my arm may fail to reach you,
My heart shall be ever yours.
And so, everything that I do
Will be reaching for the stars.
