My Mermaid Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

My Mermaid

Beneath the moon, where waters gleam,
I met the magic of a dream.
Her hair was woven, wild and bright,
With ocean foam in stary light.

I sat upon a quiet shore,
And watched the silver breakers pour.
Then from the dark and rolling tide,
She rose with nothing left
to hide.

Her eyes held secrets of
the deep,
Where sunken ships and corals sleep.
Her voice was like a haunting song,
A melody I'd waited for
so very long.

We spoke not with a
spoken word,
But every gentle pulse we heard.
She reached a hand of pearly grace,
And touched the wonder
on my face.

Though I have legs to walk the land,
And she belongs to sea
and sand,
In that sweet moment on
the coast,
I found the thing I needed most.

The salt-wet air, the midnight blue,
Brought me a love so strange and true.
A heart half-human, half-divine,
Forever tangled up in mine.
