My Mistake Poem by Jessie Mahoney Bathis

My Mistake

MY MISTAKE

I love you, I love you, I love you
That’s all I used to hear.
Now I’m cold & lonely,
Without you here.

I made a mistake leaving you,
I wish I could turn back time.
Take it back to the good days,
The days I was yours & you were mine.

Name upon name,
You took all of the blame.
I was blind, but now I can see,
You are the one I’ve loved and lost.
You were the one for me.
