My New Flat Poem by Bunny Baker

My New Flat

My dog is dirty
It’s messed up the floor
I don’t need this hassle
I don’t want any more
So
I’m going to kill it
Don’t look at me like that
I’m going to gas it or something
And that’s that.
That
It was always a rotten dog
Bad tempered and a biter
There was zero companionship
It hates me and I hate it
I hate it
It ate my college notes
I failed because of it
Now I work in a shithole
To feed both of us
Us
I take it for walks
It shits in the street
It pulls on the lead
It can go to hell
Hell
You won’t understand
It was bad from the start
If it was good I would be good
Now I’ll be rid of it forever
Ever
It curls back its lips
And gives me the look
All teeth and saliva
I’ll do it in now
Now
I grab at its neck
And I’m squeezing like hell
It jerks its head round
And bites of my thumb
Thumb
The hospital asks me
I tell them it’s mad
Something must be done
It’s next victim a child
Next
I phone from the ward
How will they do it
By injection won’t suffer
Anything more painful available
Anything
I have a new dog
I don’t think it likes me
And I’m not fond of it
I don’t like dogs

Even with pets, we have the so called compatibility. You're not a dog-man. And maybe, he's a lady-dog. Try cats.
