My New Friend Poem by Allen Schulz

My New Friend

Rating: 5.0

My true friends are many and I do love them all
The good ones are still here even through tough times and alcohol
My life is good if every day I awake
And we carry on just for old time sake
But as you know meeting a new friend is never too late
Now this time it was a lock when out of the blue
Came a charming new friend, who new and "Thank You"
Being a buddy of mine's Mother you'd think we would have known each other by now.
It took 20 yrs. but finally I made time to talk to her just now.
Probably because I'm older now and I have slowed way down
I actually took the time to sit and learn she was a pleasure to be around
Visiting with her is so easy to do and I like her style
It's fun to sit and chat with her and make her smile
It was all worth the time and a real pleasure to finally meet
My new lovely friend from 39th Street.
Your new friend, Al
