My Paradise Poem by Jared Bradford

My Paradise

My heart here-
Beat, Pound, Thump.
Please don't cut me down
I'm no good as a stump

Humbly, I simply ask you
Considering what I once knew
Compared to what I know now
And this really isn't my style
But I would crawl all miles
Through ocean, over mountains, brave rush hour
To get to my place of true power
You
My paradise-
Why I cherish life,
How I get by right
Know I would die for you
Know I would cry for you
Know I wanted to
But couldn't
So it looked like I had to run from you
But I tell you listeners one thing:
This girl that I know here,
She makes me so trippy.
But not in the bad way,
The kind that makes you fall quickly.
Other than that,
I don't need to say that much
Nope, nothing too specific
Even though my love swam deep in the Pacific
But now, here I sit, way too realistic
Give my dream back
On every star I wish it
