When I was just a little girl
My parents read to me
I learned about the olden days
Upon my daddy’s knee
My mama read short stories
And daddy poetry
From the books he cherished
When he was just a boy, you see
Reading things that make you wonder
And opened up my mind
I’ll cherish all these memories
No better ones can I find!
