My Precious Wild Lilly Poem by Simon Chamoun

My Precious Wild Lilly

When life gives you a Lemon
do not allow it to rot in silence
Squeeze the love out of it
bask in every drop's rhymes
Life gave me a Wild Lilly, but i
protected her from every ray of sun
Till the elixir of life could no more
in any of her veins run

Should have been your pond
on every fair spring day
Your Red Giant of shade when
Summer sun dried the hay
Your soothing bed of green
when Autumn rushed your way
The guardian of your seeds
when Winter's snowflakes sway

Believing i was caring right
i caressed you with love in a pot
Though i knew my precious and wild
needed to roam a stream and a pond
my fear of harm deprived you
till winter came again along
and you gave up on a dream of life
now my Lilly's forever gone
