My Pride Poem by Jojo Bean

My Pride

Rating: 4.5

Your first steps were amazing
Slow but true.
But you were determined.
I was so proud of you.

Your first words were halting and garbled,
But music to my ears.
You tried and succeeded.
I was so proud of you.

Your fear on the first day of school,
Was my fear too.
But you held your head high.
I was so proud of you.

Your first time without help on your bike,
Frustrated you.
But you didn't give up.
I was so proud of you.

Your first love,
Broke your heart.
But you persevered.
I was so proud of you.

You are now almost grown,
And it scares me to pieces.
I was proud of you then,
I am proud of you now.
You have learned and you have grown,
And matured so fast.
Of you I will always be proud,
Until I breathe my last.
