Sylvia, there's some real emotion driving this poem; unfortunately, your diction is so abstract (innocent, memories, some way, insecurities, etc.) and chatty, this reader feels nothing more than a vague sympathy. To improve as a poet, maybe start reading some good contemporary poets like Mary Oliver and Sharon Olds?
