My Right Leg Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

My Right Leg

I know where my Right Leg is,
It is not attached to me,
But buried six foot down
In Bushey Jewish Cemetery.

I had a cross-knee amputation
On Thirty First January
In Northwick Park Hospital ~
Why did it happen to me?

My Rehab was very quick,
Fourteen Days it did take me,
Can anyone beat my record?
We shall have to wait and see.

That happened in Willesden Hospital,
Assisted by a Nursing Team,
With Physiotherapists, Doctors and Nurses,
And Occupational Therapists Assisting me.

I was not the easiest Patient,
Wishing to do it in ways that suited me,
They soon got to know me better,
And that Safe ~ with YOUR Help ~I should be.

27 March 2014.
