My Salvation Poem by Xuyan Cheng

When I moved to this foreign nation,
I was surrounded by isolation.
No friends, no relatives, Just myself and I,
Giving me a clear definition of an outcast…

At that time, my life felt like a place that sun never blessed.
No matter what direction I pursue,
Only a pitch black I can see.
The darkness was my only friend…

Until one day, she walked into my life,
I became a total believer of love at first sight that very moment.
It was like lightning struck the first time I saw her,
It felt like a band playing on my heart string…

I tried to approach her like a person drowning reaching for the lifeboat,
And I wanted to tell her all my feelings for her.
Although I know, it is not the right time, right place,
but it was unquestionable that it is the right person…

She was like a sun, giving out warmth and light,
I knew for sure that the world of mine was never to be the same again.
She pulled me out of the eternal darkness and lighted a fire in my heart,
She is my destiny, my life, and my destination…
