My Senses Poem by Robin Parker

My Senses

I wanted to see you
make my everything alright,
Not knowing what could happen
on that warm summers night.

I wanted to hear you
tell me it would be ok,
That i dont have to worry
you'd take my tears away.

I wanted to feel you
caress my body and pull me close,
Losing every care in the world
but who you love the most.

I wanted to taste
your sweet kisses and the joy,
Of hear the 'I love you'
from my very own handsome boy.

I wanted to smell
the scent of sweet relief,
Contrary to what you call it
its my one simple belief.

My senses tell me everything
i need and want and feel,
Except for one tiny thing
open wounds take time to heal.
