My Sexuality Is Not Erasable Poem by Hannah Johnson

My Sexuality Is Not Erasable

I feel erasable like if you grabbed an eraser I'd could be scrubbed out of existence.
Do you even know about my existence?
You should.
I'm asexual not invisible.
My sexuality is not erasable.
Stop marginalizing me.
I will not be silenced.
I will continue to use my voice to fight for more representation.
Because when another young girl discovers she's asexual I don't want her to feel as alone as I do.
I'm not alone.
A lot of people are asexual.
It would take to long to erase us all.
So accept us.
Give us the representation we need.
I've never read a book or watched a movie where there is an asexual character but that doesn't mean asexuality doesn't exist.
Asexuality is not erasable.
So put down that eraser and admit we exist.
