I'm not sure where or when it happened,
How you and I decided to become friends.
I'm not sure at what point you became
The sister God sent me with the same name.
I don't know when or how, but I do know
That you have been a great comfort to my soul.
You let me cry when I'm sad, upset or scared.
You're always supportive and I know you care.
You don't laugh when I tell you how I feel.
You know the me that I try to conceal.
You are the safe place I know I can go.
And for that I love you more than you know.
You listen when I talk. You don't judge me or fuss
And for that, my sister, I can't thank you enough.
We've exchanged stories about our lives and out past.
It's been so easy because of the connection we have.
We share so many hurts and pains that are the same
I guess that's why God gave us the same name.
Angela, you are my friend and my sister, too.
So, sister, today I say Happy Birthday to you.
