My Son And Me Poem by Rik Bertrand

My Son And Me

My life has had some hard times,
I have strived to be a good mom.
I love, I nurture, and I pray with my heart,
For the healing of my good son.

Times can ware me deathly thin,
Just getting through the day is rough.
But I am a subtle strong woman
And my worn edges are rough.

My son's healing is my main concern,
But for my family I still provide.
Sometimes I pick up stray animals,
And they end up by my side.

I pray to god most every day.
I praise the lord, so he can see.
My faith is with me in my heart,
I live this life so we can be free.

There are times that I have to release,
And go out on a wild hair,
To raise my arms and dance away,
all that I dare.

My Son and I, we will survive,
My faith insures me this.
Life will be better, it's coming soon,
Of this I will not dismiss.
