My Special Friend - Poem by M. Muirhead
You always show compassion,
Whenever I lose heart.
You raise my spirits up,
Urge me to make another start. And you're there to comfort me,
When I feel I can't go on.
You stand right by my side,
Offering a shoulder to lean upon. Though I have many faults,
I'm gullible and weak.
I never hear you criticize,
Anytime you speak. You always give encouragement,
So considerate and kind.
Offering me fresh hope,
When failure's on my mind. You brighten up my days and nights,
Make everything look fine.
So I thank my lucky stars,
You're a special friend of mine.
