Precious Love Poem by M. Muirhead

Precious Love

The room was filled with laughter, yet I heard not a sound,
My friends I couldn't see as they danced round and round.
For I was in another world thoughts of you were on my mind,
The world that I know now I'd left it far behind. Once more I heard your voice and felt your tender touch,
I saw the sadness in your eyes, when you couldn't give me much.
But your presence was more precious than all the gold the world has known,
To me you were a King and chose me to share your Throne. Dreams only last a moment, one second and they're gone,
I'm back here in the present with life I must go on.
But the love I shared with you will be with me all my life,
For God Blessed me on the day you took me for your wife.
