As Mother’s Day came and went
I couldn’t seem to start
To write my feelings down for you
About the kind of mom I’ve got.
I had measles, mumps and chicken pox
And sometimes a long red streak
The streak was from infections
And the others made me weak.
But you were always there, Mom
To help me make it through
You made delicious home madesoup
And a fancy jello too.
The house was always spotless
And your cooking was the best
With all the years of working hard
You sure deserve a rest.
So if you see in me good qualities
You’ll know why they are there
I was guided very carefully
By a mom who loved and cared..
Written sometime in the past...
