My Story Of Her Silence Poem by Pankti Vadalia

My Story Of Her Silence

Rating: 5.0

I watch her faking a smile to hide her wounds
How do I tell her I've come to share the woe.

She sits in silence, stubborn and determined
To fight everything alone.
How do I tell her I want to join her army
And win it with her by being her sword.

She insists to enclose herself
In the cozy blanket of her own world;
How do I tell her I want to be those cotton fibres on it
That absorb the tears which she sheds in her solitude

She perseveres to fight;
Sometimes struggles with the sword and cuts her hand;
How do I tell her why she feels no pain-
I have taken it from her long ago.

She lives for others, always working and trying
To bring the spark of joy on every face she sees;
How do I tell her I am none other than that pair of eyes
That tells her about the darkness where she must visit.

She says she doesn't care, and leaves;
Just to go into a corner to knit everything together
Yet again, and again, without getting noticed.
How do I tell her about the spell
That she leaves on my heart
Upon these unread stories of selfless love.

She likes remaining anonymous
In a corner that no one knows about;
How do I tell her I am that dust on the floor
That witnesses the poetry she narrates to herself.

She is afraid to love anyone
And yet never loses a chance
Of being the angel star on a new moon night;
How do I tell her I am that stray soul
That she guided to her home that night
And approved silently to stay there forever.

My Story of Her Silence is a stunning section of writing that somehow slipped under the cracks around here. There would otherwise be a long strand of adoring praises collected beneath it... Great job as your respectable emotions are smothered all over these lines.
