My Summer Place Poem by Marilyn Lott

My Summer Place

I love so much my Summer Place
Within my garden wall
Some of my flowers hug the ground
And others are amazingly tall

For you see, inside this garden
There are colors and fragrances rare
I’ll pour you a cup of coffee
Someday if I see you there

When it’s hot I sit in my white wicker chair
With a glass of ‘sweet tea’ to sip
Watch the bumble bees and birds
I sure hope you can make the trip

We could talk about days gone by
Chat about the wonderful weather
Listen to the soft pleasant sounds
As sweet nectar is quietly gathered

The colors of my distinctive flowers
Will surely will be for you a surprise
You will find such pleasure I know
A feast of brilliance for your eyes

So dropp by soon, my friend
So I can show you my personal space
I sure would love for you to see
My special Summer Place!
