My Sunset Poem by .... Chetty

My sunset, I love you with the iris of my eyes
Nothing in this world could have ever prepared me for something so amazing
Oh yes he came, not on a white horse ridding from the skies
Rather he picked me from the crowd and never did he take his eyes off me
Nothing could have made me fall from the heavens like a floating star
He held my hands and from that day I felt my soul connect

I held the pen a thousand times to write the words
But the music played a symphony so freely through my heart
His eyes burns so bright in my night, I belong here,
Yes right under his arms is where he stole my heart

I see my future all over the lines of his palms
I feel the love through everything he does
Everything comes so easily
He feeds my heart with kindness and love

Come take my hands
Come lets follow me, I will show you the world you give me
Come see through my eyes how beautiful you are.
I want to stay forever under your sunset

No words could explain how I feel
But I pray each day I can make you as happy as you have made me

My foolishness takes over me to believe this is too good to be true

I am trying so hard not to push him away
But I think my insecurities have bled the clouds
My sunset has become my sunrise never returning through the nights


The look in his green eyes - I knew it that day that he loved me
So I had to run, but where was I running I do not know

But oh Lord I cried! ! ! I cried! !
