My Sweet Diamond Ring Poem by Joyce Hemsley

My Sweet Diamond Ring

My sweet diamond ring was all aglow
On the day he said he loved me so.
But where is it now? I really dont know.
I've searched high and I've searched low.

I cannot smile and I cannot sing
Until I have found that precious ring
I have turned out cupboards, moved the bed,
Even ransacked the old garden shed!

I'm not concerned with the cost of the ring
Just the symbol of love and everything.
Oh...I do believe I am going to cry
I will rue this day until the day I die.

No other diamond could be quite the same
But I have only my careless self to blame
Wait for one moment ~ I am sure I can see
That sweet sparkling ring 'smiling' back at me.
