My Transcendental Reality: A Confession Poem by Richard St. Clair

My Transcendental Reality: A Confession

It is quite true, the times, they are a-changing,
For better and for worse, if truth be told,
I've seen many a change now I've grown old,
Some I've shunned, some I've found engaging.
Earth is, by mortal standards, very old,
By cosmic standards, a temporary blip:
How small that makes us, just a tiny drip
Of water and diverse chemicals uprolled.
Many today feel this is all there is,
A tragic story soon the dust to bite;
But I've found hope in a transcendental Light
Into which I'll bloom from a karmic chrysalis.
Hard it is, explaining it to friends,
How before this Light my weatherworn knee bends.
