My Village Road Poem by Dr Bedadyuti Sahoo

My Village Road

My village childhood recalling
To go back to see my village scenes, and
Rickshaw Puller drinking country liquor in his mud huts
Sitting at the river mount enjoy the soothing river flow
Swimming in the village pond with childhood friends
Cattle grazing in the green fields give immense joy
Sitting with extremely old for listening ballads
Gives pleasure and emotion which are not in urban
Potter busy in making pots of clay stops me to look at
Birds chirping in the dense forest create a lovely music
Roadside ripe paddy fields in winter and Goats' grazing
People drink tea in the earthen cup in dawn
And sitting before bonfire to warm up the body
Looks like a blossom flower in the flower bed
I feel that time I am away from the smoky urban
I love my mango groves I love my village wards
I love my cattle herd I love my village road
