I want to walk with thee, my God,
In faith and righteousness;
I must just tread the heaven's road,
And talk to Thine highness.
I want to turn more holy, Lord,
Improve my piety;
I love to hear and keep thy Word,
And reach eternity.
I want to cry with all my heart,
To Jesus Christ, my Boss;
I yearn to play an active part,
Work for a noble cause.
I want to plead and pray all day,
To Christ upon the cross;
I love to follow Savior's way,
Who is, will be and was.
With Christ beside me, I needn't fear,
The tempter's vilest tries;
To me the sign of th' cross is dear,
That shuns off every vice.
O Holy Spirit, fill my soul,
With grace up to the brim;
This clay vessel must do its role,
However life turns grim.
More devils roam the earth these days,
And men do heinous sins;
Protect my soul Lord in Thine ways,
And crown my stay with wins.
My gaze on heaven's narrow gate,
Must always stay in life;
Make my sorrows somewhat abate,
To bear my growing strife.
