My Way Poem by chris schwartz

My Way

Four drinks
And a little pink spring pill
Can't put to sleep
The unrest that I feel
And the sadness I keep.
All that I wish for,
Is to drown in sweet sleep
Wishing you
Would just find
Yourself.

The struggles you go through
Are the nightmares I dream
The restlessness That keeps me
Wakening
Is the sound of your screams.
That keep sickening me.
The love that I have
Is the love you will find
Rest easy, my child,
Leave the past
Far behind.

Ain't nothing running deeper
Than the flow
Of…
Your troubled mind.

The day goes on longing
For the field of your dreams
The night comes a calling
But you can't tighten the seams
The seams on the fabric you've sewn
God, it ain't what your promise
Made me to believe,
So I'm ditching you too.
My mercy lies
With those who still
Live the dream

Ain't nothing running deeper
Than the fast flow
Of a troubled mind.

I ain't living for you,
I ain't living for them
I ain't living for the past
Or the present.
I ain't answering
The questions,
Running through my head
I ain't defending
Those who don't get it.
I'm just living for me.
In this wonder of insanity.
And the rest of the world
Just resents it.
