My Wedding Day Poem by Emma Jane Rae

My Wedding Day

This day is tough,
It should be my wedding day,
My hopes, my dreams Gone,
Nothing ever goes my way,

So many times,
My hearts been broken,
But something inside,
Waits patiently to be woken,

Woken from hurt,
Woken from pain,
I can't even see the sky,
Through the outbursts of rain,

I'm down trodden,
Crapped on by everyone I love,
And I sit here wondering,
Will I ever be enough,

I fight for everything I believe it,
I fight for you,
And it doesn't even matter,
That you've broke my heart in two.

I stand here on the outskirts,
I peer in at my old life,
Today should have been my wedding day,
I should have been your wife.

I long for the life.
That we once shared,
The love, the safety,
The time that you cared.

Here it comes again,
Heartbreak in the years I cry,
Willing myself to understand,
The reason behind your goodbye!
