My Wife Poem by Renjith V. Sathyan

My Wife

She jumps up early when the alarm rings
Does her shower and makes the food
Picks up the newspaper beside the gate
And makes me wake and brings a hot tea.

Look how she arranges my scattered shelf
Decks my table with all her skills
Then calls my kid to brush his teeth
And helps him bath and dress to school.

She presses my clothes and makes them stiff
And brings to me with a lovely smile
When I comb my hair, she says
“You look so handsome than yesterday.”

When I leave for work, she comes
With some shyness, bow her head
I keep my lips on her forehead
Then she forgets all her stress.
