I was lazing for some time,
And roses laid the bed for me.
But, I was covered with a cloth,
Which extended from top to toe.
...
When it is dawn
The flowers look up eagerly
As if they are waiting someone.
When it is dusk
...
The day is too sanguine
Still I feel so morose
Her eyes speak a lot
Still she keeps a gulf.
...
She jumps up early when the alarm rings
Does her shower and makes the food
Picks up the newspaper beside the gate
And makes me wake and brings a hot tea.
...
Never a poet, a lover of beauty.
Nor a singer, a devotee of music.
Words burst out from my heart.
Music whistles from my mind.
...
An Elegy On Myself
I was lazing for some time,
And roses laid the bed for me.
But, I was covered with a cloth,
Which extended from top to toe.
I could see a crowd around me,
Bathing in the tears they shed.
But I could not conceive, why,
They stood in front of me in grief.
I felt a strong embrace of the chill wind,
Which broke my bones and froze my flesh.
It made my body a bag of bones,
And made to preserve it with my flesh.
A fairy came in front of me,
And placed a bouquet on my breast.
Then kissed my forehead with her tears,
And kept her lips on my eyes.
That was none other, but my heart of hearts,
The one who stole my beats of heart.
I wrenched and tweaked and struggled to be free,
But I was tied to the petals of rose.
I wanted to console and stop her tears,
To make my fairy glad forever.
But my attempts were in vain,
I lay there with some fear in mind.
Now I wait for someone to come,
And lift me from this world ever after.
I can see a bright star afar,
That makes a hope in my mind hereafter.
