My Yesterday Poem by Paul Warren

My Yesterday

I went looking for yesterday
Thinking it wasn't sealed away
But I couldn't find the key
To what I could now see

I wanted to feel again
What was mine once when
Happiness was for me
Given out for free

But you say there are memories
Placed away so carefully
That are now shadows of the past
Just the bear bones that will last.
