My Younger Sister's Shadow Poem by Tyeisha SELBAJ

My Younger Sister's Shadow

Rating: 5.0

everyone just ignores me
but as soon as she walks
into a room
she gets all the approval, the
praise, and the credit
Its always been this way
I've always stood in my
younger sister's shadow
everything that happens
she turns it into something for
herself
selfish
that's what I call her
better yet she has no name
in over twelve years I haven't
spoken to her or our parents
when I conceived my first child
she hogged up all the attention
they never made plans to come
to my child's birth
but to her recital
I never forgave her for it
either
I thank god, that he closed
up her womb so that she might
not have children
selfish
I always stood in my younger sister's
shadow
I never forgave her
I never will
