Mysterious Ways Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Mysterious Ways

The ledger's pages, long and deep,
Hold secrets that the heart can keep.
Each coin spent, each word that flew,
A tangled thread, both old and new.

We tally sums, we try to mend,
But where the final numbers bend,
No screen can show, no mind can trace,
The truth that lies beyond this place.

A lifetime's work, a whispered plea,
All written for a watchful eye.
The final sum, the perfect score,
Is held by Him, and nothing more.

For what's to come, and what has been,
Only the Maker can convene.
Our efforts fade, our wisdom wanes,
His perfect judgment still remains.
