Myths In The Poetry Of Jm (Jayanta Mahapatara)

The Myth of Suryanarayana In JM

The Sun-temple,
Suryanarayana
With the sculptures
In love, worship and devotion,
At war and peace
Sculpted on the outer walls
Of the Konark Sun-temple
Denoting sunrise, sunset,
The chariot wheels
Drawn by mythical horses.

The Myth of Dark Daughters in Relationship

The myths of dark daughters
JM tells it in Relationship,
The myths of dark daughters
Dark and lovely
Sculpted on the walls of temples
Under the twinkles of the starry skies
In mist and night-time loneliness
As motifs and symbols,
Toiling in sun-beaten hamlets
Against the backdrop of the hills.
