Naga Panchami



A day of the Nagas,
Nagavamsas,
Naga worship,
A day to pause and think about
Icchadhari Nagins,
Nagakanyas,
Nagaraja
And Nageshwara.

While celebrating it,
Worshipping Naga Devata,
The cobra replica made from
Metal,
The mind stands out in reverence
To the deity of the cobras,
Somewhere in the Ma Manasa temple
Cobras are also brought
By the charmers
To be offered milk.

I think why to worship,
But the house I live in
Is also with the cobras
Living underneath,
How to banish the dreadful,
The awesome and fearful from our life,
The elements of?
