Naive Poem by Waltfred Lee

Naive

I had a world,
it was naive like a simple tale.
There was a castle,
with a princess up in the rails
of solid walls
from a window she saw winter falls.
The hero came,
slay the dragon in its cage

How beautiful,
if only the world ain't that cruel.
How beautiful,
a sweet escape to paradise.
How beautiful,
when fairy tales were all still true.
How beautiful,
if only the world was free from lies.

I'm still a boy,
surrounded by my books and toys.
I'm still a boy,
take my everything but my joy,
take my everything but my joy.
I don't need anything but my joy,
because I'm still a naive boy.
