Naivety In Shadows Poem by C.F. van Niekerk

Naivety In Shadows

Naivety in Shadows

The simple and naive are the powerful indeed,
For the other has their boundaries set by experiences met.
The freshness of youth does not rule the wise,
For the wise lifts the horizons and expands youths sight.
Just be warned that the young and brave must not hast away,
For the house is build when the material is priced.
What will you see if in your little world you live,
Never upward or budding more…
In the shadows of the light they are being developed,
From naivety without lethargy they emerge in sight.
So all are brave if we look at the span,
The span of naivety that's in all of man…
Just look on the wise but keep vision untied,
Then you'll find your passion unlocked.
Never settle in what you became,
For like the pond if you stop to long you'll perish.
