Nameless Poem by Michael DeVries

Nameless

You catch my eye from across the room
I notice the way your golden hair carelessly falls across your face
and the smile you give me
quickly gives rise to one of my own
I remember these things now
as I lay here on the verge of sleep
and that ignored, hidden, and yet,
long sought-after emotion returns to me.
That fearsome, frightful, yearned-for feeling,
rises within me as I think of you
and let sleep overtake me,
waiting impatiently to see you again.
