Native Sun Poem by Butch Decatoria

Native Sun

The one who listens

Certain as the wolf

Alongside who Rides the Wind

With the one who awoke

Our uncertain yolk

This evening full of holes

It's cold stillness spoke

To all who'd hear

The voiceless fear

Distance across the tear

That awoke the Soul

Ever sought so near

Certain as the briefest wind

The wolves' ride alongside

Howling in the Spin

Gravitas of human pride

Earth men's toll

The stillness broke

And bespoke fault

Good-byes

Sighs

Love letting go.

Ocean dies

Swimming to the sun

Alight

Alone.
